My students want to do their best and learn. They inspire me to make learning fun for them every day. Second graders are finding their way in school, as early learners. They are learning what they need to become lifelong learners as they head toward the upper elementary grades.
This year’s group has a special love for reading and sharing stories!
They are flying through my library and recommending books to each other. They draw pictures of what they’ve read in art, they write responses and critiques in their journals and they would choose to read a book with a friend over most other subjects. I love their passion for learning!
Kindles will allow us access to more literature than ever before! I will be able to assign individuals according to reading level or have multiple copies of the same story at my fingertips. When I get a recommendation for new stories, they can be instantly downloaded without having to wait for a book order. My special needs students can be accommodated with larger print or audible stories in a snap. I can also access hundreds of free stories for the kids’ reading pleasure as well as instruction. Students will also be able to respond to their reading with other applications I can add to their Kindles.
