Mrs. Coats from Berlin WI is requesting Technology through DonorsChoose, the #1 classroom funding site for teachers.

Kindle Our Fire For Reading

My students need two Kindle Fire eReaders with protective cases to use during our literacy block. We would also like screen protectors for the new Kindles and our iPods.

My Students

Times are rapidly changing and we are trying to keep up! The new Kindle Fire ereaders are a great way to read a book, especially since the pages are in vivid color and include animation. My students find technology very motivating and love reading books online.

I teach in a very large elementary school in a rural community.

We have nearly 700 K-5 students with five classes at every grade level. I have twenty-two extremely techie second graders who love all forms of technology. They are able to help me learn how to use the newest tech devices on the market!

My Project

I tried the Kindle Fire myself while shopping and would love to add two Kindles to our literacy centers, including the protective covers and sleeves. We would also like screen protectors for our new iPods. My students enjoy reading books online and the Kindle Fires would be an exciting addition to our classroom. My class loves to read and they are especially motivated when they are using computers or ereaders. We would be able to incorporate the Kindles into our reading to self and our listening to reading blocks of time.

Using the newest technology is both fun and engaging for students and adults.

We would love to add two ereaders for our classroom, so we can enjoy books online. I am hoping that the Kindle Fires really do kindle a fire in my students and get them fired up to read, read, read!
