The coronavirus has had a large impact on our school. Due to the location of our population and the economic need of the area, many of our students are not able to attend google meets or use other digital devices to learn during this pandemic. Currently, our school is providing each student with a grade level learning packet with the hope that they have the other resources, such as pencils, crayons and at-home readers/books, to complete the assignments to further their learning.
My Project
As we continue on our learning journey from home, many of my students are lacking the technology needed for distance learning. Our school, which is located in an area with a large population of low-income families, relies heavily on explicit, teacher supported instruction. By not being able to support our students and focus on individual needs, Kindle tablets will allow me to download specific apps that will allow students to work on their individual needs and practice skills that will help them as they move into the next grade level.
Kindle Fire Tablets will give my students the opportunity to practice, learn and master much needed skills to be proficient in math and reading!
These tablets will be given to each student, who are currently working well below grade level, to help them "catch up" to their peers. Students will be working on many skills, which will be shared with them through google classroom. I will be able to check up on their learning and support them as they continue to learn and grow!
