My students need 5 Kindle e-readers to read during class silent reading time.
This project expired on December 22, 2013.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
Engage our readers! The students in my class love to read on Kindles. Something about the technology aspect engages many of my students that hated reading in the past. This project would put Kindles into the hands of 5 more students per week!
Most of the students in my classroom come from low-income families.
They have little to no technology and books in their home. What they are given at school is the only experience they get. We are located in a rural area where there are limited resources as well. All of my students are eager to use whatever technology I put in front of them. I know that being able to read on the Kindles would invigorate their passion for reading.
I am requesting 5 Kindles for my classroom. These Kindles will be in the hands of students each and every day. They will be able to check them out for a week at a time to read books on. They will be able to check out a book of their choice from our public library to be loaded onto the Kindle. I know that using them will really cause a renewed interest in literacy and reading in my classroom.
By supporting this project, you will be having an impact on a great group of children that deserve the very best!
I want them to experience things they otherwise never would. Kindles will provide a new, fun way of reading and learning literacy skills.
