I am teaching students who are at a Title I at-risk school in a 3rd-grade classroom, many are gifted but not all. The school itself is small due to its location and state funding is tied to the number of students who attend so budget cuts were made. I would like to work with the entire grade level and my class to teach STEM and address differentiation of students in all academic areas and a growth mindset. I plan to also teach a before and after school math/robotics and coding club. Given the opportunity, these kids can achieve!
A set of Kindle Fires will help me with STEM and teaching students about robotics, coding, math, and reading. I will also use the Kindle Fires with my students for differentiation in all academic areas including reading. I plan to set up a blended learning model in my classroom, using station rotation but technology is needed. I will teach a before and afterschool math, robotics, and coding club. Starting in May, I can use Kindle Fire 8 to program an EV3 robot. Laptops are too expensive and a Kindle Fire 8 will be perfect and will be software compatible! Students in the entire grade level will rotate in and out of my class during STEM Fridays. Students will work on STEM, Academic Enrichment/Acceleration, and Mindfulness!
