Kindle Fire Readers Will Ignite a Fire for Reading!
My students need Kindle Fire readers to practice reading skills and hear books read aloud to help develop an enjoyment and love for reading in first grade. In addition, math materials will help reinforce math concepts.
My students are in the first grade and are 6 and 7 years of age. It is the beginning of a brand new school year. My students are excited about learning and are enthusiastic and eager to learn. Our school is set in a small rural community with a diverse population. One third of my class is learning English as a second language. The difficulties that some students face due to the language barrier does not discourage them from putting forth their best effort. They are hard workers and always do their best.
My Project
Children enjoy being read to and love to show how they are learning to read. The Kindle Fire Readers will provide an avenue for both. Our class goal is to increase reading fluency by repeated practice with grade level text. Students will track their progress in order to monitor an increase in reading fluency. In addition, The Kindle Fire Readers will make classroom instruction and independent workstations more hands on and intriguing for the students.
With these Kindle Fire Readers, I can increase my technology ratio and help ensure more students work with and experience hands on reading practice each day.
With numerous websites available, I can make reading more engaging. These tablets would help to make it possible to reach all the students I teach each day.
In addition, the Stuart J. Murphy math supplemental texts and geometry manipulatives will enrich current math instruction.
