This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My 3rd graders are some of the friendliest, loving and hard-working students you'd ever meet!

Our school is located in an high poverty area of an urban city.

In our class we focus on growing a love for learning and creating a supportive classroom environment.

My students are curious about many topics and look forward to reading in order to become experts on those topics. They love using technology! This is their first year using a Smartboard and they are having a blast!

My Project

My students will use the Kindle Fire tablets to support their learning by accessing programs for reading support and reading enrichment.

Our classroom is an inclusive classroom, we have students on many different reading levels.

Using these Kindle Fire tablets, students will be able to have support when working independently on skills taught in class. The students who need more reading support can work at their own level while students at higher levels can work using enrichment programs. These supports will help the students improve their reading levels through fluency practice and comprehension. Also, it provides students with the opportunity to use technology.
