This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas Texas for Dallas ISD. My students come from an area that is not known as being very affluent. Majority of my students are a minority and are low SES. 100% of my students receive free and reduced lunches.

The positive is that my students rank at the top of the district in test scores.

The school they go to has been rated an A school by the state of Texas based on academics. These students are some of the most resilient students I have ever met.

My Project

My school district recently supplied us with 20 Kindles to use with our students. I chose to order 20 new Kindle fire cases so that they can stay protected and safe.

The kindles are really nice and it would be awesome if we could receive a way to protect them.

This way students for years to come can use them.

The goal is to become a technology focused classroom while we are learning reading and writing. I want all my students to feel like they are a part of something bigger than just paper and pencil. The ability to use the kindle and be exposed to something new could do that for them.
