Kindle a Fire for Reading
My students need a Kindle Fire and case to motivate them to read!
I have a wonderful group of energetic digital learners that are surrounded by decidedly non-21st Century learning materials! I'd love for them to be able to use a Kindle Fire for reading and learning activities
About 60% of the students in my classroom come from Spanish-speaking homes, and over 90% of my students qualify for the free/reduced lunch program.
It's important that our classroom be filled with many reading choices and that includes digital reading choices. It's especially important that these students have experiences with digital devices since these are the type of devices they will be expected to use as adults in the workplace. I'm excited that my students have learned the joy of reading but it's vital we provide digital learning experiences for them!
Reading is a skill that gives power. I'm thrilled that they're gaining that love of reading, but I also want to provide them opportunities to gain experience with digital learning tools. A Kindle Fire in the classroom will not only provide a super-engaging reading experience, it will also give them that valuable experience of becoming competent users of digital tools.
Your help in providing these twenty five students with a digital learning tool like the Kindle Fire will help them not only improve their reading skills but also gain experience and become competent using digital tools, which will have a major impact on their lives.
Thank you for helping to give them the opportunity to become 21st Century citizens.
