This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
This is a bright and active group of five and six-year-old children. They love to create and tell stories. They love to read and be read to. They are quickly learning to work together, which is a vital skill in our world. My children work in small groups and independently throughout the day. This helps them learn to focus and improve self-control issues. Small group activities that let us get up and move help our ADHD tendencies stay under control. We need real reasons to move and stretch.
My students grow in all areas by practicing and playing together.
Writing throughout the day in science, social studies, math, and even in art helps them in so many ways. They get noisy, but they learn so much together. They need supplies to grow as readers, writers, and illustrators. They need to show the colors of their ideas. They also need ways to be active and help learn to control ADHD tendencies. There is so much to learn.
My Project
Kindergarteners need lots of hands-on materials that will last for repeated usage. Having word cards to build our vocabularies would be very supportive. We should have picture cards to sequence and show our understanding. We need things we can trace and practice numbers, words, and letters. Laminated samples will last for repeated usage.
I am requesting this Fellowes laminator and Staples thermal laminating pouches to protect our hands-on materials in a row.
We need the pouches to protect our work. We need to show growth and improve our handwriting. We need to connect words to pictures. We can do all of this with these pouches and this terrific machine.
We need to use these balls to show we can follow directions and work with partners.
