I work in an amazing school. Our school serves a wide variety of students with different ethnicites, abilities, and socioeconomic households.
Kindergarten is a time to get students excited about learning and school!
Most kinders are eager to learn and try new things. I love seeing the smiles and sharing the giggles that they bring each day. My goal is to make their first experience with school a fun and meaningful one. At this age learning with visuals is important. I want to engage my students, teach them, and show them that learning is fun!
My Project
Kindergarten students need visual examples many times throughout the day. A mobile easel will allow me to work my students whole group. It will allow me to show my class big books, do shared writing, and allow movement around the class for smaller instruction. While students are working on tasks, having buddy spots set around the room will allow them to have movement and collaboration with different peers daily. They can use them to read with a buddy, write with a buddy, or just have a fun conversation with a friend! The key is to get them comfortable to experiment and try new applied lessons on their own or with a buddy.
