Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come to school each day with a smile on their face and a positive attitude. Many students in my class, as well as others students at my school, come from families that have often experienced divorce, have single-parents, and even live in foster care. Regardless of these circumstances, our children strive to better themselves each day. Our school has grades K-6. We are a Title I school and 80% of our students are considered to be "high-poverty". In recent years our funding from the state has severely declined. Our school district simply does not have the funding it needs in order to serve '21st century learners'.

My Project

My kindergarteners LOVE using technology! I am asking for 8 Osmo Genius Kits for my classroom. My students will be able to create and explore activities in Reading, Math, and Science in a new, hands-on experience. They can use the Osmo independently or with a partner. I plan to implement the Osmos into my center time while I am pulling small groups for Language Arts instruction.

The great thing about Osmo is that it engages all learning and ability levels, all while allowing for collaborative or individual learning styles.

This is a teacher's dream come true = ALL students actively engaged!
