My Students

My students are an amazing group of kindergartners who come to school eager and excited every day. I strive to not only make their classroom a safe, positive environment, but to be a place where they can engage, interact, and work with one another to learn.

The five and six year old children in my classroom have a great love for learning and their excitement is one of the things I love most about them!

Our school is comprised of middle and lower income families with very diverse backgrounds. For many of my students, my kindergarten classroom is the first school experience they have had.

My Project

The future holds so many possibilities for our youngest learners! One thing is clear, they need computer science in the early grades. Coding is a language that opens the minds of all learners. Kid-friendly Ozobots offer a creative way to learn coding skills that use critical thinking skills and problem solving all while having fun! My students will be able to learn the language of code to create many different activities.

With these STEAM resources, my kindergarten students will learn to create, design, and explore through the world of coding and robotics.

The Ozobots can be used independently, in pairs, small groups, or even as a whole class. Ozobots will help to build a foundation of critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and problem solving skills for my kindergarten students.

I am asking for an Ozobot starter kit which will have enough materials to enable all students to use these amazing tools. These robots will provide opportunities for hands-on learning in science, technology, engineering, math, and literacy to help prepare them for their future in a digital world.
