This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a first-year kindergarten teacher! The student make-up is 81% Hispanic with many students being ELL's and nearly all students come from low-income households.

We come together each day to be a community of learners, helping each other to grow and do our very best.

They love hands-on, active, and engaging projects and challenges that will allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They begin their love for learning in my classroom and continue throughout their educational career!

My Project

It is so important to engage students in their learning and I want them to have choices in how they do it. These iPad's will give them just that during literacy centers and free choice at the end of the day! Since the majority of my students are from low-income households, they may not have access to computers, laptops and iPad's at home. As our world is becoming more technology-based, we will build on the twenty-first century skills that students need to be college and career ready.

I am focused on incorporating STEM into our daily learning and these iPad's will help to make this possible.
