Our school is very small but diverse. We not only have many regular education classes, but also have 5 Special Education classes. Many of my students are from low socioeconomic backgrounds. Many of my students come from homes where both parents are field workers or both parents work full-time to make ends meet. Our school is a Title I school. 100% of our students receive free lunch.
Our students are so excited about learning!
Whenever a new staff member comes to our school, they comment on how nice our kids are. They comment on what a wonderful, welcoming school culture we have. We have worked very hard at that! I really want our sweet, nice students to have the best school experience possible regardless of their socio-economic status.
Wow! How school has changed. When I was in Kindergarten, we stayed half a day, had nap time, drank milk and ate a graham cracker, we played, painted and had a great time. Now, it is so different. We are expecting our students to stay full day (from 8:20-2:50) and it's a lot of academics. I would love to be able to give my children a comfortable nap time to help them rest. I would love to be able to have each of my children have a Kindermat so they can lay down and take a small nap every afternoon comfortably. Since I have hard floors, a comfortable nap really isn't quite reasonable right now. I look out at my sea of babies and am sad that I see them so sleepy! They are so young and we are expecting them to stay way longer than they should. I would love to be able to see them lay down and rest after a long morning of hard work!
Thank you so much for supporting my babies.
I just know they will appreciate the comfort you will allow them to have when they are so tired.
