My delightful kindergarten students are excited about learning to read. Please help us stay excited by providing some beginning level books that we can use to develop our reading skills.
My students are an energetic bunch of Kindergartners in Washington state.
We are a full day class and practice reading for 90 minutes daily. This time includes independent and partner reading with self-selected, leveled books. The children are excited on Monday mornings when they get to choose the 7 books from their level that they will read for the week. (The recommendation is 10 books per week, but we don't have enough books to accommodate that.)
My Project
My students would be so happy to be able to choose 10 leveled books per week to help them become stronger readers. To be able to choose 10 books that are not only at their level, but also interest and excite them, would be wonderful for their skill development! Both fiction and nonfiction books are needed by our students.
My students are eager to be strong readers.
When I bring in a new story to share with them, they are very excited. I can only imagine their excitement to have brand new, interesting books to choose for the week!
