Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
You will not find a harder working group of students than the ones in my classroom.
Even at four and five years old, their work ethic never ceases to amaze me.
I have a very diverse room of students with every ethnicity being represented. More than 55% of our school population are English Language Learners. In my room alone I have students who speak many different languages including Creole, Japanese, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Tamil, Ukrainian, and more!
Most of my students qualify for free lunch and come from hardworking families who are trying their best to overcome a variety of different obstacles.
My Project
These materials will help support a variety of different types of learners within my classroom. I have requested wobble chairs, stability seats, scoop rockers, bean bag chairs, and a stand up desk to increase my students' learning experience. I have also requested figipods and seat bands to aid those students who choose to sit in traditional student chairs.
My vision is to create a classroom environment that provides a variety of sensory seating options to best suit all of my students' needs.
I will let students choose their own seating based upon their specific needs. I believe that this choice will empower my students and provide them with the best learning experience possible.
