I have twenty-five amazing students! I work at a Title I school. These energetic children are enthusiastic and motivated learners. My pupils have a unique variety of abilities, interests, and learning styles. In kindergarten, it is developmentally appropriate to have lessons where the kids have opportunities to interact hands-on and creatively. In kindergarten, we must focus on rigorous academics, free play, creativity, and developing fine and gross motor skills.
I hope to provide my students with the appropriate level of books to help each child progress at his or her optimal level of achievement.
My Project
Kindergartners love a good book. Story-time is such a special time in our classroom. It is often filled with lots of laughs or deep 5 year old discussions. My kids always beg me to read them another story. I think this is fantastic. The kids are learning to read in kindergarten. Having them fall in love with books inspires them for their own educational journey. I am requesting some of the top rated story books of 2018. The books have a variety of themes that cover topics of diversity, self-esteem, tolerance, and friendship.
The books: "Square", "Don't Blink", "Love", "Island Born", "Hidden Figures", "The Digger and The Flower", "Elmore", " Wordy Birdy", "The Rabbit That Listened", and "Crunch The Shy Dinosaur" will all be a huge asset to our classroom.
These books will inspire art projects and digital storytelling, initiate important discussions, and help the kindergartners fall in love with reading.
