Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach 17 loving students who really want to learn. My class consists of many different backgrounds. Some live with both parents and have a stable home life. Others live with only one parent (usually the mom) and others live with relatives. They all face their own challenges. When they come to school they all are eager to learn! So, as a teacher I want to supply them with what they need.
The one thing I want my students to know is that they can do anything when they grow up.
My goal every year is show them the love of learning and that someone cares for them.
My Project
The books that are included in this project are part of the books that go along with Tara West Curriculum, KinderLiteracy. I started using the curriculum last year and had great results. I am now trying to get all the books that go with each lesson. I know I will see great growth in my students.
Students love this curriculum because it covers wide variety of topics in the books.
The topics are topics that Kindergarteners like to learn about. For example, one book is about sharks, another book is about Koala bears, still another book is about being kind to others. Please help partner with me to bring literacy-enriched books into my classroom.
