This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Hello! I am a passionate Kindergarten teacher dedicated to bringing life of the real world into my school classroom community. I teach in an at-risk community in Denver, Colorado. My class size is 24 students. Many of my students have never been out of Denver.

Many of my students are English Language Learners. It is important to make connections in our classroom to the outside real world. I want my students to know how important it is to learn their ABC's so we can read and write. My budget does not allow me to purchase needed items for my classroom.

I need two mailboxes and envelopes so we can begin writing teachers, other students, businesses, and even the President come January. We will place one mailbox inside our classroom and the second mailbox outside our classroom. Teachers writing us back can mail their letter in our mailbox outside our classroom. The students become so engaged in the process of letter writing! The school becomes engaged in our letter writing. We build a community of learners! I often wonder how many students in our building will grow up to be mail carriers someday. How many of my students will have a passion to serve the community as a postal worker. By your donation, you can help me, a teacher of nine years, develop a love of learning in the realm of letter writing! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SINCERE CONSIDERATION!

I have taught nine years. I am on a limited budget. I have to look at the overall year and see where and when I can pay out of my own pocket to serve my students. I find myself paying $1,000 a year extra out of my own pocket to purchase cooking lab items, postage, etc....I want my students to view learning as fun. I cannot provide these mailboxes for my students. I NEED your help. I need your funding. Who knows in 20 years, maybe one of my students will be carrying your mail! Please help not only me, but the community. Thank you so much for your consideration.
