My Students

I teach a dynamic group of fabulous kindergarten students in an​ extremely diverse school in New York. My students love reading funny stories, writing, poetry, creating art, exploring in science, learning new words, building, dancing, singing, playing math games, playing with puppets, and learning new facts. We are obsessed with our composting worm bin!

My class absolutely loves our beloved puppet, Chef Lotsa Words.

He cooks up sight words, poems, vocabulary words, and books each day in his "magic" pot. My students are funny, enthusiastic, inquisitive, compassionate, and sweet.

My Project

My kindergarteners LOVE our classroom puppets. They especially like the puppets made by Marty Allen of Sock Puppet City. He is going to make my students puppets that they can use as a reading buddy! I would love for my students to meet Marty! With your help, Marty can visit our classroom to talk about how he gets his ideas for puppets and to demonstrate how he makes puppets. We can use his photographs from demonstration for our how to writing later in the year! At the end of the presentation, students will be able to pick out a puppet that they can use for in class reading!

Thanks to you, my students will be able to meet a puppeteer and find out more about how to make puppets!
