I have 24 Kindergarten students who are eager to learn! Most are about age 5 and for many, this is their first experience of school. About 1/3 of my class acquired English as a second language, so everything is a new experience to them.
The students learn responsibility and independence their first year of school.
Part of that is having someplace safe to house their materials. I want this project to do just that for them.
The first year of formal schooling is most important. Having an inviting classroom where real-world skills are taught is essential to educating the whole child. These students deserve that!
Seat pockets are a simple organizational tool that really helps students stay organized and responsible for their own belongings. Students learn what it means to care for their own materials, and this transfers from classroom to home!
Everything I've ever needed to know I learned in Kindergarten -- this could not be more true for this project!
By giving students a method to store their materials in a neat, organized fashion, it teaches so many skills from responsibility to self-care to efficiency. What better way to start a student's school career than to teach these much-needed skills!
Your donation to this project will give my students a good head-start in life!
