Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students live in the middle of the city, in an industrial district. Our high poverty, Title I school is hidden behind many manufacturing buildings and has very few pla ces for the students to run and play. 100% of the students in our school receive free breakfast and lunch each day.
We are a new STEM Magnet School, with a focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Science.
We are creating an environment that encourages unique learning, creativity, independence and cooperative learning.
My Project
The three-year license to use Raz-Kids will help my students become better readers and be able to comprehend the books that they read or listen to. The interactive e-books have more than 400 stories with 29 different levels. My students will be able to move at their own pace as they read the books and answer the questions correctly.
Because these are e-books, my students will get to integrate technology during their literacy time, and will get a wide variety of stories they can read.
They, of course, will still get to use our classroom library with hard copies of common books, but will have the option to be read to on books they are interested in. Raz-Kids will promote a love for reading in the classroom.
