I teach a dynamic group of fabulous kindergarten students in an extremely diverse school in New York. My students love reading funny stories, writing, poetry, creating art, exploring in science, learning new words, building, dancing, singing, playing math games, playing with puppets, and learning new facts. We are obsessed with our composting worm bin!
My class absolutely loves our beloved puppet, Chef Lotsa Words.
He cooks up sight words, poems, vocabulary words, and books each day in his "magic" pot. My students are funny, enthusiastic, inquisitive, compassionate, and sweet.,
My Project
My students absolutely adore sock puppets from Sock Puppet City! They are fuzzy, adorable and just the right size for kindergarteners! They use them during center time in our library. My students love reading to and with a puppet. Currently, we have five Sock Puppet City puppets that I bought at a craft fair. I would love to have an entire class set so the entire class can read with a puppet friend during reading time! I know that my students will love reading with these awesome puppets and hopefully, my students will be more engaged during reading time!
