Kindergarteners Need PE Fairy Godmothers and Godfathers

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Creative, social, unique, bright, confident and insecure. These are my students. In a school where 90% of the population is of Latino background and a high number are English language learners, they are very different than other students in the same school district (and they know it). Many of them have parents who don't speak English well, have single parents or guardians, or live in poverty.
They are like me growing up.
We love to sing, dance, play, collaborate, paint, and stay active while we learn!
These are the varied and talented group I call my students. They may feel different than other students in our district, but they have the same potential.
My Project
Our school does not have the funds this year to give us new balls, jump ropes, bean bags, and other materials to work our our gross and fine motor skills at recess and PE time. In our ball bucket, we have 2 flat balls, 1 soccer ball, and 2 jumpropes. The other 3 teachers have the same issues.
If we are able to get our project funded, we can share these materials to help our 100 kindergartners, four classes, work on their health, motor skills, and teamwork!
For example, the balls can be used for recess and to practice hand-eye coordination. The jump ropes will help students with balance and jumping abilities. Not only would we be able to use this for outside PE lessons, but we could incorporate PE skills, like corn hole and bean bags, in our core instruction. We will use corn hole to motivate students to learn sight words, facts, and work as a team. Our students learn best with hands-on materials.
