My Kindergarten students are children of 5 and 6 years old, who come daily to our classroom with a big smile and ready to learn. In our morning meeting, they like to share their daily experiences like when someone lose a tooth the night before and how much the little mouse put in the pillow for them. When it is time to start our lesson each one demonstrates their particular way of connecting new knowledge with what they have already learned. My students are full of joy, curiosity and above all, a lot of love for learning a new language. They understand that Spanish language learning will open doors to new experiences with Spanish-speaking people. Hola!, Buenos dias!, Como estas? It is their way to welcome every person that comes to our class.
My students like to do their independent work on the carpet. This is because their chairs are very uncomfortable for them. This is a problem when its time for them to focus in practice what we are covering, specially when we talk about a new language. Most of the time they want to stand up for a break and then go back to their seats.
I know if I provide a comfortable chairs like the wobble ones, they will be more engaged and more enthusiast about their independent work.
I will start with six wobble chairs. This will be placer in a rectangular table where they can work on their independent work. Practicing how to divide words in syllables, making new sentences or even using their ipads.
