Kindergarten Wiggles! – Flexible Seating for Flexible Learners
My students need more flexible seating options including Kids Kore Wobble Chairs. These will allow my students to ¨get their wiggles out while maintaining focus.”
My students are a very diverse group of children. Our school is a Title I school which is based on the schools 91% free and reduced lunch rate. Being kindergartners, I want them to be exposed to a positive learning environment tailored to their needs. I have twenty students and only a few options to sit in our room; either in their chair or on the floor. This funding will give my students the opportunity to have alternate seating choices.
My students are bright and love to create things, they are energetic and full of life.
It is very important that as a teacher I provide many opportunities for my students to learn the different curriculum while having fun doing it! By donating these wobble chairs, you are providing my students with a comfortable place to read, work on math, and most importantly feel comfortable while learning.
My Project
I run a very high energy classroom where students are excited to learn new things in brand new ways. As a class, we are always investigating and trying new things out. My class consists of twenty 5-year-old children. They are expected to sit in stiff, uncomfortable seats day in and day out for hours on end.
As an adult, these expectations are even high for me.
By having access to these wobble chairs, they will be able to have the opportunity to be able to move while working in class! Not only will this help with focus and attention during work time and lessons, but it will also provide the outlet for the movement they need. My students would love the opportunity to get their wiggles out during instruction time without disrupting the entire class.
