This classroom set of whiteboards, markers, crayons and erasers will be vital to our classroom, providing developmentally appropriate and sound writing manipulatives that are both fun and educational!
My kindergarten class is full of excited young learners!
Students learn and grow each day through various activities, and learning how to write is one of the most important! Our school and community is rural and located near a military post. Some of our students have experienced the deployment of parents. Some students live in homes where extended family serve as their guardians. Many students live in single-parent homes. Some students' families are involved in agriculture.
Time in the classroom provides education and enrichment. Kindergarten is a time to introduce the love of writing to each student, many of whom come to school still needing to learn the basic concepts of spelling words and writing. I want to help these students gain access to resources they would otherwise not be able to experience!
My Project
My students are bright, but our school has limited resources. Everything that I bring into my classroom is met with genuine appreciation and excitement. My students would love to have their own whiteboards at their tables to respond to instruction and improve their writing ability. We will be able to do so much with white boards. We can practice name writing, words, numbers, and even math skills! I want to help my students become successful in communicating through writing.
This is a skill they will be able to take with them throughout their life. Using white boards and markers will make learning fun!
These whiteboards will spark the fire of creativity in my students!
You'll also be teaching my students a lesson in generosity. We'll discuss the importance of giving to others and showing appreciation when we are the recipients of gifts.
