Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Every child needs a champion! An adult who will never give up on them. Through my eight years in NYC DOE I have taught, loved, laughed, and cried with some very special children. I am a special education educator and have always pushed my scholars beyond their disabilities to see the world is theirs to conquer! I have only taught in the nation's poorest districts with children and families that carry heavy loads on their shoulders. Even with all they have going on, it doesn’t diminish the smiles, the hugs, and success we experience together in the classroom. I have always believed that every child can learn just not in the same way. With your support, you make it possible for learning to happen!
My Project
My students work hard each day individually and collaboratively. I would like to fill our treasure chest with some goodies to reward their hard work. I know that any items they see they are grateful. So I am hoping to fill it with things they would never expect. I am also asking for dry erase markers and erasers. Having these materials will help my students when they are writing on their whiteboards. The mini erasers will my students erase without using their hands. Plus it is always good to have extra markers.
