My students need an iPad in order to allow them to venture into the world of 21st century learning.

I teach in a Title I school where most students lack the necessary materials at home to help them succeed. Therefore, I want to provide the most enriched classroom environment that I can in order to help my students reach their goals! I believe technology is one of the best ways to do that. These students come from low income households where technology is barely, if at all, present. Utilizing iPads in the classroom would be a total game changer for them!
Technology is so important for student learning in these times. An iPad will allow my students to take their learning further than the four walls of our little room. They will be able to gain more information and work on vital technologically related skills needed in their future. In addition, having an iPad in our classroom would enable me to create a listening center for my students. I would be able to pull up videos of people reading a story related to our learning in which the students could listen to the story as they are seeing the visual pictures to go with it. This would be particularly beneficial since I do not currently have the means to create a listening center containing multiple sets of books on CDs as a new teacher. Also, there are so many websites that students can use for independent practice on skills related to phonics, reading comprehension, math, etc. Having an iPad in our classroom would open up a whole new world of learning for my students!
