I have been an educator for the last 14 years in the district (which is a rural school in upstate New York) that I attended myself.

I teach a diverse group of Kindergarten students in a high needs district. As an educator I would like to integrate technology into my classroom to help my students develop the skills needed for the 21st century learner. Each year there is a demand to use more and more technology for classroom activities. I would love to be able to advance my knowledge of Google and all it has to offer. The more I stay up to date, the more I will be able to provide opportunities to my students. In Kindergarten, I feel that I am the students foundation for their learning.

My Project

The class that I am requesting "Google as a Classroom Tool for Learning" will allow me to learn how to create a classroom website where I can share information with my parents as well as collaborate with my fellow colleagues while creating units. I will also learn about how to implement all the useful apps that Google has to offer for educating Kindergarten children. The Chromebook will be useful for taking the on-line course. The textbooks will be useful resources for learning how to use Google.

The professional development will allow me to bring more technology into the classroom successfully.

My parents and students will benefit from information I will be able to post weekly on a classroom website. It is important to have a connection with the parents outside of the classroom. The students will benefit from the new apps that will be available for them during our lessons.
