This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
What I love the most about my kindergarten students is their can do attitude! They are always willing to try and are up for a challenge! On average I have the opportunity to teach 16-18 amazing scholars each school year!
They have diverse backgrounds.
Many of my scholars come from the Caribbeans and are English Language Learners (ELL). Some of my scholars are Exceptional Education Students.
ALL of my scholars are SHINING STARS and deserve a fair shot at education!
My Project
Blue-Bots are an awesome way to introduce young scholars to the world of coding. Coding offers many opportunities for learning and personal growth, exploration and creativity, mastery of new skills, and ways of thinking.
By using the Blue-Bots in different subject areas like reading and math students will learn how to manage frustration and find solutions, rather than giving up when things get challenging.
They learn to collaborate with others and they grow proud of their hard work.
I hope by introducing coding to my students during Kindergarten it will set the foundation for higher thinking for our future scientists and engineers.
