This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
We start our day meeting on the carpet and work on a calendar activity. Next, we read a book and each student gets a chance to talk about the book. We then follow up with a writing assignment followed by students going into literacy centers.
My students come from high poverty households.
They are wonderful kids who are eager to learn and love coming to class. We talk about how college starts in Kindergarten, and they talk about what they want to be when they grow up. Our school tries hard to meet the needs of all our students.
My Project
I have some very low students who have come to Kindergarten not knowing any numbers or letters. My students need number and literacy puzzles to improve math and reading skills. I have tried my best to help my students, and I feel that these puzzles will help them learn their numbers and letters in a fun way. It will be great to put them out in a literacy center, so these students can feel successful. The puzzles will be a great addition to our classroom in helping these students learn their numbers, letters and sight words.
This project will definitely help my lower students feel successful in learning their numbers, letters and sight words in a very fun way.
Gaining self-confidence in learning their numbers and letters will inspire them to move to the next level in their academic success.
