This will be my first year in a Kindergarten classroom and while I'm absolutely terrified of wrangling a bunch of 5-year-olds for full-day kindergarten, I'm also extremely excited for all of the fun, growth, and play-based learning that will happen!
Kids all learn in such different ways and creating an environment where the kids are supported is my ultimate goal!
Kindergarten is a year of exploration, growth and building foundational skills through play and practice. I'm excited to foster all of those skills through many different modalities.
While they may be young, that doesn't mean that the kindergarten classroom can't develop a solid foundation for some of the most advanced academic fields such as science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, also known as STEM. By giving the students access to materials like tracks, Kinetic Sand, magnets, tweezers, and more they will be able to practice such essential skills that develop the whole child including social skills and perseverance which is absolutely necessary for our kids to thrive in collaborative work environments!
Nurturing the 21st-century skills early on and fostering a love for creating, building and problem solving will set them up for success for the rest of their lives!
I am excited to get these materials into the classroom and to see how inspired and creative the kids can be!
