Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from varied backgrounds and abilities. Some of my kinder kiddos are English language learners and have special education and social/emotional learning needs. All of them make up the unique fabric of our classroom family. What I love best about my students is their willingness to learn. My students love hands on activities to explore the world around them and collaborate with one another. Each child contributes their unique experiences to the learning process and classroom environment in so many special ways.
My Project
The requested hands-on science center materials will provide my students the opportunity to learn about the world around them within our classroom. Many of my students don't have the resources to do these types of activities at home. A hands-on science center which includes specimen sets and prepared slides kit, along with maginifier and bucket balance in our classroom will expand their learning and promote scientific inquiry. This center will contribute to student engagement and collaboration for my young 21st century learners. These activities will be a great addition to our STEM center and will enhance my students’ learning in many different ways. Introducing them to science through hands on exploration will compliment the many different lessons I teach.
