My students are fun-loving and curious 5 year olds. Some enter kindergarten from a head start or pre-k, while others come to school without previous formal education. No matter what, they’re excited to learn!
Our classroom is a place where students will learn and grow for two years through kindergarten and first grade.
It is amazing to watch them bloom from uncertain 4 and 5 year olds to confident 6 and 7 year olds!
They are special boys and girls, and I know that you would love them just as much as I do!
Living just south of the Canadian border in Upstate NY means that our best garden growing months (June-August) occur mostly outside of the school year. This deprives my students of the opportunity to learn about plants in the most natural way - by growing them!
My Kindergarten class would like to learn about plants by growing a hydroponic vegetable garden in our classroom.
We will study plant parts, the life cycle of plants, and what plants need to grow. We will learn about nutrition by exploring the vegetables when they are grown and about the farmers in our community.
The cold winter months will not stop my students from watching vegetable plants grow from seed to produce! I cannot wait to see their excitement as they taste the vegetables that they grew!
