My Students

Recess is an important time for kindergarten students. They get to play on the structure, draw with chalk, ride trikes, and pull friends in the wagon. Unfortunately, our wagon was so popular that it fell apart at the end of last year.

Our students come from a low socioeconomic area.

Due to unsafe neighborhoods and lack of sidewalks and parks, many of our students do not get to play outside at their homes. As a result, many of our students only have outside playing time at school recesses. We like to have many activities available for them to do during our time outside. We have seen the value of them working together to pull their friends in a wagon.

My Project

Our school wagon was one of the most popular items for the students in the past. Sadly, last year our wagon could no longer handle all the miles that the students were putting of it. The wagon was broken beyond repair and has been missed ever since. We are very excited with the possibility of reuniting our class with 2 wagons to use at recess time.

With so many budget cuts in schools, the generosity of donors is so valuable.

We find that most of our budget goes toward basic school essentials and, as a result, we are often unable to replace things like playground equipment. A donation to fund the replacement of our broken playground wagon would be wonderful!
