My Students
My students are energetic and excited little 5- and 6-year-olds. These little people are just beginning their educational journey. They are curious and enthusiastic learners. It is my goal to provide them with every opportunity so they can find joy and success at school.
We live in a small, rural community that is high poverty.
Our main source of income for our community is a paper mill that is always on the verge of closing. Life in our community is unpredictable. The opportunities that are offered to my students are few. Our school district tries so very hard to provide the students with every advantage that it can, but I know there is more for them out there. They want to learn and explore, and I want them to love school and get excited for the next 12 years of it!
My Project
Kindergarten students are so excited to learn! They love to experience new things and have new experiences. It is important that all of the things we do in kindergarten are meaningful and engaging.
The moments that we have to teach science have to provide the biggest bang for our buck, and robots will do that for them!
To be able to provide my students with meaningful science experiences would be a gift that could change their lives. To expose them to robotics in such a fun and meaningful way could excite them to become future engineers!
These robots would be an exceptional addition to our classroom learning!
