We have over 100 students in our kindergarten classes. Our student population consists of African American, Asian, Indian, Latino, Caucasian and Native American.
Our students are very polite, well mannered and very respectful to each other.
Our students are bused to our campus from surrounding areas and ride their bikes or walk.
All of our students have recess before school starts in the morning, after lunch and later in the afternoon. We love seeing our students active during recess as their learning seems to increase when we have these recess periods included in the school day.
My Project
Our kindergarten students have a separate area from our other students on campus to keep them safe at recess. This allows our kindergarten students their own space and area away from the older students. This presents a problem as our kindergarten students then need their own playground equipment. We have approximately one hundred kindergarten students at our school and growing.
The playground balls will be used in a variety of ways at recess to keep our students active.
Students will be able to play kickball, four square, catch and a variety of games to keep active during recess.
The soccer balls will be used by our kindergarten students using numerous soccer skills. Dribbling, kicking, punting and passing skills with the balls.
The hula hoops and jump ropes will be used to see who can hula hoop or jump rope the longest. This will allow our students to develop their locomotor skills as well.
This equipment will allow our teachers to stress the importance of good healthy activities during recess.
