This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project is to help provide read aloud books, pencils, and a new phonemic segmentation activity for my students. My students have really fallen in love with the "There was an old lady..." books and I want to provide them with a few more to expand their excitement for reading.

These books are interactive and repetitive, which is very helpful for my special needs students and ESL students.

The phonemic segmentation activity is to help with breaking down the sounds in the words. Right now my students are having a hard time with recognizing that there are multiple sounds in a word. I believe that the pop-it boards with not only keep them engaged but also provide them with visual and physical representation of each sound.
