Kindergarten Readers and Writers in Need of Everyday Materials
My students need both upper and lower case handwriting practice books and markers. These wipe off practice books would add an essential literacy center to my classroom.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Do you remember learning to read and write in kindergarten? Many of us do, some of us may not. My teacher was the most memorable teacher, not because she smiled a lot, but because she loved to teach and made learning as exciting as possible.
My students are my angels.
They are always excited to be at school, sometimes a little too excited, but as long as they are happy to be at school, I am happy. My Title I school is in Michigan, and located in an impoverished, low socioeconomic status area. Our school is sometimes seen as a safe haven for a lot of the students.
My Project
I have requested both upper and lower case handwriting practice books and markers. These wipe off practice books would add an essential literacy center to my classroom. Dry erase handwriting practice books will give my students the best opportunity to learn how to write the alphabet, while making mistakes and easily correcting those mistakes.
These resources will be used to enhance the differentiated instruction in my classroom.
Everything donated to my classroom will be put to good learning use!
Handwriting is a large focus in the education of young students. The more the children write, the easier writing will naturally become an interesting and rewarding form of communication!
