I am blessed to teach 17 kindergartners in a Title I school. I have 7 boys and 10 girls in my class. Eighty percent come from single parent homes. My school is a small rural school, where most families live at or near the poverty level. Eighty percent of my students live in homes where parents only have high school or GED educations.
This project will provide the basic materials I need to help them learn and become successful in school.
The students will draw and write their own stories using the HP ink and copy paper provided by this project. They will be able to print their stories and pictures to help illustrate their stories. The students will learn how to type, print and use images from the Internet. My students will share their stories with the class so this will allow for real life experiences involving speaking out loud for others to understand. This activity will encourage the use of talking and writing in complete sentences. I am very eager to share this learning opportunity with my class!
The sticky notes will be used as exit slips for my students to write or draw about something they learn at school each day.
The manila folders, pens, and paperclips will be used by me to gather and evaluate data about each student in my class. Compiling and organizing data will help me ensure all my students are learning,
I believe this project will help my students become lifelong learners!
