As a kindergarten teacher, I get the excitement of meeting new precious faces with unique personalities every year. All of my students will come from a variety of different diverse backgrounds and most if not all of them will come from low-income housing. My school is in Bridgeport, CT which is an inner city district and my school specifically is located in a neighborhood where the poverty level is very high and we do not get any money for resources.
My Project
My classroom needs these book bins for our leveled readers and for each student to have a individual book bin to go through literacy stations. Every year I purchase card board book bins for each of my students but by the end of the year, they have to be thrown away because of wear and tear. I would love to have heavy duty book bins that can last me through the years from class to class. My students will use these book bins daily during our literacy block. I will use the larger help yourself book bins to organize leveled readers and my students will be able to shop for books in them. They will then take the books they pick and store them in their individual book bins.
