My Students
As a kindergarten teacher, I get the excitement of meeting new precious faces with unique personalities every year. All of my students will come from a variety of different diverse backgrounds and most if not all of them will come from low-income housing. My school is in Bridgeport, CT which is an inner city district and my school specifically is located in a neighborhood where the poverty level is very high and we do not get any money for resources.
My Project
Every August, I spend a lot of time and money preparing for the upcoming school year. Unfortunately in my district we do not get any reimbursement for the materials we buy and parents usually do not buy school supplies for their children regardless of the supply list we provide.
Every summer, I purchase all of the materials needed for all 24 of my upcoming students. With your donation, my 24 new students will receive new folders for their homework, binders, crayons, pencils, dry erase markers, regular markers, colored pencils, name tags for their desk and pencil cases for their materials.
