Hello! I am proud to say that I am a third-year Kindergarten teacher at an amazing charter school in Jersey City, NJ. We are an inner-city start-up, charter school in its fourth year that is in desperate need of materials and support.
We want to empower our students to go further in life and be strong enough to improve their environments.
More importantly, we want them to believe that they can control their future by working hard, persevering, and bursting through any roadblocks placed in front of them!
We are devoted to fostering a strong work ethic, values, and the passion for learning, that is necessary for our students to close the achievement gap and graduate from college! I am hopeful the donations made on DonorsChoose.org will give my Kindergartners a bit of extra support as they begin their journey as lifelong learners!
My Project
Having seat sacks in the classroom will reduce the precious class time spent passing out and collecting students' learning materials. Chair pockets will eliminate transitional time and allow students to have more on task learning time.
Students will build a sense of pride while learning responsibility, caring for their own learning materials.
Help students in our class to have an age-appropriate way to store their math manipulatives (counters, unifix cubes, ten frames, etc), dry erase boards and their science and math journals.
Seat sacks are a practical organizational tool that will be used multiple times a day. They easily attach to the back of a child's chair making it very convenient for him/her to store schoolwork. Most importantly, we won't lose any learning time gathering our materials.
