My students need an organizer to keep their class work in throughout the day. we have tables, not desks, so a place to keep their personal work is needed.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have a new batch of Kindergarteners coming in September and I can’t wait! I have not met my new students yet, so I can not give any insight on them just yet. I will be sure to update once I meet them! In general though, but my favorite part about Kindergarten is their eager appetite for learning. I love being a part of their first school experience and helping to lay a foundation of a love for learning. This is something they will carry with them throughout their entire educational experience.
My Project
This organizer will allow the students to have a safe place to put their work. It will also teach them to take care of their own belongings, as it will be solely their responsibility to put their work in and out of their slot each day. It is important for the children to build strong personal organizational skills at a young age that they can carry through life without them. Without an organizer such as this, I would have to sort the papers for them each day. This would not only waste time, but also not instill responsibility within the students to take care of their own things. It is essential to provide the students with organizational supplies they can use themselves.
