My students need a variety of leveled readers to get them EXCITED to learn to read in Kindergarten!

My Students

I have a brilliant class of 26 students that love to learn and read! They are already devoted to learning but our school and their parents have very little access to one of the most important aspects of early learning- books!

My students attend a large Title I public elementary school in Oklahoma.

We are overcrowded, but have a staff devoted to giving each and every child the education they deserve and are entitled to. They are excitable, smart, and adventurous, and love to learn through reading.

My Project

I have requested BOOKS for our classroom library. Right now, our library is limited to the one book my students get to check out once a week from our school library. This is not enough to quench their thirst for learning! We NEED more books for our classroom, so that students are able to practice independent reading in class. It is vital for their success as incoming First Graders!

Reading and Literacy are two of the most important aspects of early learning.

If students learn to love reading at a young age, that will follow them the rest of their lives! Helping support this project will help to create life long learners!
