Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My kindergarten students are an amazing group of little learners. Many of them come from disadvantaged backgrounds, but you would never know it! Every day they come to school with happy faces and positive attitudes. Their enthusiasm and love for school make me ecstatic to be their teacher this year!
My Montessori kindergarten class contains such an exciting group of mixed interests, abilities, and goals.
Some of my students attended Pre-K at my school last year and are starting in Kindergarten at a first grade level. Some of my students are just coming to school for their first time and are learning the basics - letter names, sounds and how to hold a crayon or pencil. Even though they are on all different learning levels, all of my students love to learn new things, sing songs, tell stories, dance and play outside.
My Project
These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strived to create. My classroom library is a place that my students really enjoy. I read on the carpet to them every day and they also read independently! Every student book that is placed in my library is treated with love and care, and the students are thankful for the opportunities to read. All of the books were chosen with my students in mind. Students will be able to choose from a variety of books that interest them, which will help them to continue to enjoy independent reading time. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more! These books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in independent reading, and this project will only help enrich their learning experiences as they are exposed to more new and interesting books!
