My Students
I teach kindergarten at a very large elementary school. Kindergarten is all day but we need to remember that the children are still 5 years old and that developmentally play is their primary way of learning.
I want to offer more ways for my students to learn through play.
I have 20 busy boys and girls who are learning letters, letter sounds and sight words that will help them learn to read. For math they learn about numbers, number sense, shapes and patterns.
My Project
My students will be playing and learning at the same time. These manipulatives make learning letters and shapes fun. No worksheets can replace hands on learning. The students will work in centers with other students and learn valuable skills necessary for school and life.
The letter finder game will have students searching for letters and and learning the names and sounds.
The geostix and magnetic pattern blocks will give us practice creating and learning about 2 and 3D shapes all while allowing us to move, manipulate and have fun.
Help fund these great materials that help with hands on learning for my kindergartener students.
