We want to explore! Have you ever known a five-year-old that doesn't love to explore? My kinder kids love to explore and would be completely enthralled with these science supplies. Demands on kindergarten are so much higher to achieve in reading and math, but they also need to explore the world.
Our school is in a low, socio-economic, rural area, but we have huge goals.
We are a small K-8 school that is dedicated to the success of each individual child. The economy and the funding has hit our school as it has others, but we are determined to do all we can to ensure that our students have the best possible opportunity to learn and the most fun doing it. My kindergarten class is inquisitive, proactive and in need of science supplies. Usually when I buy, I buy something that is a necessity, although secretly, I would love to have more science supplies for them to marvel at. They are a wonderful group of children that deserve only the best, and I would appreciate your help in giving it to them.
My Project
Picture a kindergarten classroom full of five-year-olds learning to read and do math, with only minimal science activities, and, then picture them around a table taking turns with the supplies I've asked for! My kinder kids' eyes would definitely light up when we unpack a wind tunnel and a variety of different magnets and exploration tubes. They could see close-up what they usually only see from afar and understand it. Have you ever seen a kindergarten kid that didn't love magnets? I never have! They would love trying to see what is magnetic, what isn't and predicting why. The science viewers are specially designed with a lens for discovering color, light or magnified objects! And then, my personal favorite, the discovery tubes that you can view colors separated and then shake them up and view a whole new color! What fun for kinders and their teacher!
These supplies are important because kindergarten kids not only deserve to be taught the basics, but also encouraged by the wonders of the world around them.
These engaging experiments would help me to introduce them to the scientific world this year and for many years to come, and turn them into lifelong explorers. It is something that I view very important and would desperately love to have the opportunity to share with them every year. Thank you so much for your consideration of our project.
